How I stumbled upon the world of Multilevel Marketing
One of the first things I did when i first decided that I wanted to get out of the rat race and build and new income stream which would allow me to do that, I started with the outcome!
I came across this way of thinking when reading a book by Tony Robbins called Unlimited Power.
I’ve actually started reading it again today.
It says that in order to be successful the best thing to do is have the end goal in mind. You should be asking yourself…What does successful mean to me? What is the big picture and the big vision? If in five years you were to look take a step back, look at your life and say you have made a success of your self, what would that look like?
Obviously this isn’t the case for some people. A number of people have made vast amounts of money from something they initially started as a hobby with no idea that it would become their life and career and make them millions.
However, as a general rule of thumb, If you are going out to start a business or build any sort of job replacing, life changing income..then you need to have an end goal in mind.
So with this in mind, i sat down and I thought “What does success look like to me?”
One of the most important things on my list that I came up with was residual income.
What would be a success to me is building an almost completely hands off income that continues to roll in day after day, week after week, month after month with very little involvement from me. Money that comes in regardless of if i decide to work or not.
I want to work because I want to…not because I have to. I want this residual income to be something that can form the basis of me to get out of the rat race, get my 40+ hours a week back and explore other passions I have and use the money to invest and really start building my wealth.
So after deciding that and doing a bit of searching around the internet I soon realised there is no better way than through multilevel marketing or network marketing as others like to call it.
Over the years network marketing has taken a a bit of a bashing and has been handed a bit of a bad name. This is due to there being a lot of unethical companies out there who are nothing more than glorified pyramid schemes.
A lot of them have been shut down and rightly so. And some have been find HUGE sums of money. Most recently you might have seen the story about one of the most known mlm companies in the word Herbalife? If not you can find a recent post I did about it here
Even though network marketing has had a lot of bad press I saw an interview recently by network marketing legend Eric Worre with the man himself Sir Richard Branson. It turns out Mr Branson is a massive fan of Network marketing.
You can see the interview now as it was broadcast as a webinar that you had to sign up for. You can see a little snipping of it over on Eric Worres Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/NMPRO/videos/10154140582729335/?pnref=story)
Some of Branson’s comments actually surprised me as I would think someone of his stature would be as positive about it.
One of his comments from the interview were:
“…so I’m a tremendous believer in network marketing. I’m a great believer in entrepreneurs. I mean all the future jobs in the next 20 to 30 years will be created by Network Marketing entrepreneurs and other entrepreneurs around the world..”
When a man as successful as Richard Branson speaks about business and money….you listen!
